Yes. Both fireplaces burn all season: the hearth in the main house living room and a second fireplace in the glass-walled sunroom of the guest house. Wood is kept stocked by the house team and the fires are laid and lit for you, so the rooms are warm before you come down in the evening.

Can we use the infrared sauna whenever we want?

The Iglucraft infrared sauna in the garden is yours at any hour during a stay, with no booking required. It is reachable through a warm wood-lined antechamber, and the Brass Monkey ice plunge sits outside under the pines for contrast. The house team can show you how to run it on your first day.

Is the gym available in winter, and what equipment does it have?

The Technogym room is open to guests all winter, at any time of day. Its glass doors look onto the pine garden, so you can train with the winter landscape in view. The full suite of Technogym equipment stays available exactly as in summer.

How is the bath set up for winter?

Every suite has its own bathroom, and the master bathroom adds a large rain shower over twin stone basins. After a sauna session or a hike, the room of your choice is ready for a long hot bath; many guests end the evening there with the fire still burning in the next room.

Is the pool heated and usable in winter?

Yes. The private pool is heated all year round, so it stays warm enough to swim even in January and February — some guests make a quick dip the favourite way to end a sauna session, moving from the infrared sauna to the heated pool before the ice plunge. The house is let as one estate, so the pool and the whole property are yours regardless of season.

Can Serenico was built for the summer and turns out to be better in winter. The light is low and long, the coast is yours, and the whole day organises itself around four things: the heated pool, the kitchen, the two fireplaces and the wellness wing. The house sleeps 10 in 1 master suite and 4 guest bedrooms, all en-suite, with a four-night minimum from €6,000 including VAT.

The Heated Pool

The private pool is heated year-round, not just in summer. In low season it sits at a swimming temperature while the island turns cold around it, which makes it one of the most surprising pleasures of a winter stay — a warm swim under a low January sky, or the long way to end a sauna session before the ice plunge. The pool is yours at any hour, alone and unshared, for the whole of your stay.

Most winter guests still gather their days around the kitchen, the two fireplaces and the wellness wing — but the heated pool is always there, lit at dusk and ready whenever the mood takes you.

The Kitchen

In winter, the kitchen becomes the middle of the day.

A long island under pendant lights, doors that still open onto the terrace on a bright January afternoon, and enough room for ten people to stand around while something slow happens on the stove. It is where breakfast drifts into lunch and where the chef works when he comes.

Two Fireplaces

One hearth in the main house, one in the glass sunroom.

The living room fire is the evening one — sofas drawn close, low light, the garden dark behind the glass. The second is in the guest house sunroom, walled in glass on three sides, which holds the winter sun all afternoon and the fire all evening. It is the cosiest room on the property and, in January, the one everyone ends up in.

The Bedrooms

Three people who make a winter week here what it is.

A private dinner at the house: Boris cooks in the kitchen you have been living in all day — one long dinner for up to ten, built entirely around what the island has that week.
A guided hike on the western cliffs: Manuel knows the paths above Cala Conta and Cala Escondida in winter light, when the coast is empty and the sea is at its clearest. One guided hike, on the morning that suits you.
Massage at the house: Ivan comes to Can Serenico rather than the other way round. Sessions are taken after the sauna, in the room of your choice, with the fire already lit.
