Ognuna si apre su un proprio angolo di giardino — una terrazza privata, un patio, un tratto di chioma di pino — e tutte sono vestite della stessa calce, dello stesso lino e degli stessi pezzi vintage del resto della villa. Proprio davanti al salotto principale, una grande pergola in stile balinese — montanti in acciaio nero coronati da un fitto tetto di palma e lampadari in rafia — trasforma la casa estiva in un'unica stanza continua. La Piscina

Acqua, sospesa sopra il mare.

Una lunga piscina con bordo in pietra distesa tra i pini marittimi, un padiglione in paglia per pranzi senza fretta, e lettini all'ombra di parasoli di lino. Ogni oggetto che vedi qui è stato scelto personalmente dal proprietario — un imprenditore franco-italiano formatosi tra l'Europa e gli Stati Uniti, oggi con base a Roma. I pezzi sono stati cercati uno per uno, in gran parte su 1stDibs: lanterne intrecciate e un tavolo da pranzo a bordo vivo da una galleria di Vienna, lettini in teak scandinavi trovati a Copenaghen, ceramiche e dettagli in rattan spediti da Palm Springs. Niente è preso dallo scaffale — la piscina è semplicemente il punto in cui la collezione incontra l'acqua.

Un ufficio indipendente arrivato dall'Estremo Oriente — un igloo in legno rivestito a mano in scandole, immerso tra i pini di Norfolk, con vetrate ad arco che si aprono direttamente sulla piscina. Cablato con fibra a 1 Gb, è separato sia dalla casa padronale sia dalla guest house, e offre una tranquillità totale per lavorare senza mai uscire dal giardino. Una poltrona in pelle stile Eames, una lunga scrivania, una panca con piastrelle verdi piena di libri d'arte e un daybed con cuscini a spina di pesce: una cabina serena in cui pensare, scrivere e fare chiamate, con l'acqua che luccica tra gli alberi.

Il Giardino

Un giardino botanico sopra il mare.

Più che un giardino mediterraneo, i terreni di Can Serenico sono una vera collezione botanica — disegnata e piantata da un paesaggista professionista, cosa rara a Ibiza. Centinaia di specie convivono qui: pini marittimi e di Norfolk, palme a ventaglio e da dattero, banani, fichi e ulivi, fichi d'India, agavi, yucca, frangipani, bouganville, gelsomini, oleandri, dracene, cycadee, felci ed erbe aromatiche. I sentieri si snodano tra siepi potate, cortili di ghiaia e macchia mediterranea verso il mare e la silhouette di Es Vedrà all'orizzonte. I tramonti qui sono il finale silenzioso della giornata; un Ford d'epoca e una fila di tavole da surf attendono al cancello.
